Internet treatment just as good as conversational therapy?

New research from our colleagues in Västra Götaland shows that internet-based psychological treatment can be just as effective as traditional conversational therapy.

"Internet treatment for depression works just as well as the care offered today", says Marie Kivi, doctoral student at the University of Gothenburg.

The study has been conducted at 16 local healthcare centres in Västra Götaland and shows that treatment via internet gives results that are at least as good as traditional conversational therapy.

"This means that the primary healthcare system, as it is, is capable of introducing internet treatment as yet another fully viable treatment alternative for depression", Marie Kivi says.
